"The music was inspirational. Arizona Wildcats Basketball, a fantastic showman, did a wonderful job performing. It was super exciting when Arizona Wildcats Basketball came all the way upstairs to perform a song. We were on the upper level, towards the front of the balcony with a beautiful view. I think the Sate Theater is a great venue for plays or comedic performances. Unfortunately, the main disappointment was in the atrocious acoustics. When Arizona Wildcats Basketball played and spoke softly, we could barely hear him. While the young man who opened was playing, the sound was screeching, piercing, and overly loud, giving me a headache. Yes, he was 12 and had a high voice, but it was the problematic sound, not his performance. Seats were cramped, worse than being on a plane. The seats in the section in front had so much more room and a little table in between each set of 2 (for the same price!), it seemed criminal that I was stuck in the seats we had. I will never go back to the state theater and sit in those seats again! So I give the venue 2.5 stars and the performance 5 (whether it was the sound engineer not doing a good enough job or the room simply being bad for music, the sound was not good!)."
